About Upper Subansiri
History:
The name of the Upper Subansiri district comes from the river Subansiri, which meanders the entire length of the district. The Suban Siri district was further divided into the Lower Savant Siri district and the Upper Subansiri district in 1980. Daporijo was declared as the district headquarters of the Upper Subansiri district with two subdivisions and nine CD blocks. According to the 2011 census, the area of the district is 7,032.00 km² and the population of the district is 83,448. The West Cyan district is in Ease, some in the south, the Lower Savant Siri district in the west, and some in the south.
